Bureau Veritas Engages in Global Standard-Setting for Advanced Air Mobility at G3AM’s First General Assembly

Dec. 3 2025

The emergence of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) marks a transformative moment for transportation systems worldwide. Ensuring that this transformation is safe, trusted, and globally interoperable requires strong governance and unified technical standards. This ambition took a major step forward in Seoul, South Korea, where Bureau Veritas was honored to participate in the First General Assembly of the Global Association for Advanced Air Mobility (G3AM).

We are grateful to the G3AM team as wonderful hosts for their warm welcome and the amazing organization in Seoul.

Officially launched in Korea and supported by insights from major national initiatives like the K-UAM Grand Challenge, G3AM has rapidly positioned itself as a de facto global standardization body for AAM. The association unites a high-calibre community of innovators – aircraft manufacturers, digital infrastructure providers, vertiport developers, regulators, and strategic partners – all working toward harmonized, real-world standards that can accelerate deployment.

Invited as a contributor to these early strategic discussions, Dunia Abboud, Advanced Air Mobility Specialist at Bureau Veritas, delivered a presentation focused on lessons learned from building regulatory frameworks in fast-moving markets. She emphasized the importance of aligning certification, risk-based operational approvals, and sustainability considerations from the earliest phases of AAM integration – not as an afterthought.

Success in AAM will depend on trust – trust in safety, trust in performance, and trust in societal value. Standards are the language of that trust.

With more than 200 years of experience ensuring safety and compliance across highly regulated industries, including aviation, Bureau Veritas is uniquely equipped to support the AAM ecosystem as it scales, offering:

  • Independent conformity assessment and certification readiness
  • Advanced operational risk and safety methodology support
  • Infrastructure, sustainability, and lifecycle evaluation for vertiports and aircraft
  • Expertise in interpreting emerging standards and global regulatory frameworks

These capabilities help manufacturers, operators, and authorities bridge the gap between innovative concepts and approved commercial services – accelerating timelines while strengthening public confidence.

Our Positioning for the Future of Mobility

The First General Assembly of G3AM solidified a shared resolve: AAM must not just take flight – it must deliver value responsibly and reliably.

Bureau Veritas is proud to contribute its technical leadership to this mission and is committed to supporting G3AM as it continues to define worldwide best practices.

Our engagement in Seoul represents an important milestone in shaping a safe, sustainable, and connected future for urban aviation – where advanced mobility becomes a trusted part of everyday life.
