Amsterdam, Netherlands – Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce that Dunia Abboud, Advanced Air Mobility and Sustainability Expert, will participate in a featured case study at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Workshop on Aviation Training and Workforce Planning, taking place June 24-25, 2026, in Amsterdam.

Organized in collaboration with the JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO), this strategic workshop brings together States, industry leaders, training organizations, and academic institutions to shape the future of aviation workforce development in alignment with ICAO's Strategic Plan 2026–2050.

Addressing the Skills Gap in Advanced Air Mobility

On June 25, Dunia Abboud will join a distinguished panel to discuss "Preparing for Advanced Air Mobility," a critical case study exploring how the aviation sector can proactively prepare for emerging operational models. As Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) transitions from concept to operational reality, new competency frameworks, training curricula, and skill sets will be essential for pilots, maintenance personnel, airspace managers, and regulators.

The session will examine how States and training organizations can align innovation with safety while ensuring workforce readiness keeps pace with technological advancement and evolving international standards.

Panel Composition

Dunia Abboud will share the stage with industry thought leaders, including:

  • Ruud Ummels, European Aviation Lead, PA Consulting (Moderator)
  • Triant Flouris, President, New England Aeronautical Institute

Why This Matters

The workshop addresses a critical challenge facing civil aviation: attracting and developing a competent, diverse, and future-ready workforce. As the sector embraces digitalization, artificial intelligence, and new operational concepts, the ability to anticipate and adapt training frameworks will be essential to maintaining safety, resilience, and sustainability.

Bureau Veritas's participation underscores the organization's commitment to supporting the aviation industry's transition to emerging technologies while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
