The comprehensive audit by Bureau Veritas France confirmed Volotea's commitment to sustainable aviation with a clear target of reducing its CO2 emissions by 50% per passenger and per kilometer by 2030, compared to 2012. The carrier notably achieved a 40% reduction in its CO2 emissions per passenger-kilometre in 2021.
Volotea, the airline for European regional capitals, takes a step forward in its commitment to sustainability by becoming the first airline to have its sustainability program, Voloterra, audited and verified by Bureau Veritas.
The airline has launched more than 50 sustainability initiatives to date, demonstrating its commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting a responsible approach to travel for all.
Some illustrations of this commitment:
- The renewal of its fleet with cleaner and more efficient Airbus 319 and 320 aircraft
- the introduction of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in its aircraft
- its investment in the long-term development of the first commercial electric aircraft
The recent Bureau Veritas France audit confirms Volotea's desire to reduce its carbon footprint in line with its commitment to reduce its CO2 emissions per passenger and per kilometer by 50% by 2030, compared to 2012. Since 2021, the European carrier has already achieved a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions per passenger-kilometre.
