Bureau Veritas contributes to EASA's project supporting Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia

Jul. 7 2023

Following the signature of the Common Aviation Area Agreement (CAAA) with the European Union, the Republic of Armenia committed to align its aviation safety legal and regulatory framework with that of the EU.

As part of this process, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is supporting the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC) of Armenia on the strengthening of safety oversight in Flight Operations and Continuing Airworthiness domains, a project funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia.

Bureau Veritas is proud to contribute to this project with its expertise in the domain of Continuing Airworthiness (CAW) through the full-time positioning of one of its experts in Yerevan.
From that place, Bureau Veritas’ expert; on behalf of EASA; focuses on improving the organizational capacity of the authority, assisting on the development of technical guidance material, providing theoretical and practical trainings including guidance and coaching of the Airworthiness department staff during the implementation of transposed EASA rules, as well as assisting in performing inspections and audits on the field.

BV's contribution to day-to-day activities is highly valued by both CAC inspectors and Armenian’s industry, and has proven essential for the re-certification of maintenance and continued airworthiness management organizations, a key activity launched at the end of year 2022 for the entire aviation system, including commercial air transport, hot air balloons operators, flying schools and light aircrafts.
